This piece was part of an initiative 'Poppin' Tags' from Port Arts Exchange of the Port Adelaide Enfield council. Recycled art created from discarded items in op shops across PAE giving them new life, fostering a reduce, reuse and recycle mindset.
The piece, Russell Ebert, a portrait that portrays a legend of Port Adelaide, the nation and the football world, who is considered one of the greatest players in history. Using recycled materials and predominantly black and white to represent the Port Adelaide Magpies. Using a clean black background to keep the focus on the portrait and coloured highlights and adding bright stitching from my painting colour palette and stitch drips to keep it interesting. Wanted a piece that shows him in action in his element on the football field, in control and focussed on the play.
